About Space Diva Puzzles
Hello! This is our first time posting here :)
A few weeks ago, we went to an event in Seville to showcase the latest version of Space Diva. Many of you stopped by our booth to show us some love, and besides playing the demo, you were kind enough to fill out a form to help us improve the Space Diva experience.
Here were some of the results (with 1 being the lowest score and 5 the highest):
Thanks to this feedback, we realized that the puzzles aren’t working in a very satisfying way — they’re not delivering the experience we want you to have.
So, we’ve come to the conclusion that something needs to change, and we’re considering two possible solutions:
Replace the puzzles with a new mechanic. Right now, we’re prototyping a pinball mechanic to take their place. The idea is to bounce a classic pinball (with the object inside) against some buttons in order to release the ball.
Completely remove the puzzles and focus on enhancing the dialogue system. This would include a glossary with character backgrounds, an item glossary — in short, diving deeper into Space Diva’s narrative aspect.
We’d love to hear your thoughts. What do you think about removing the puzzles? How do you feel about the potential pinball mechanic? And what about focusing purely on the narrative side?
